Der Veranstalter und die Organisatoren mussten schweren Herzens entscheiden, den am 17. Oktober 2021 geplanten DRESDEN-MARATHON abzusagen.

Wir haben bis zuletzt gehofft, jetzt aber ist es unvermeidlich:

Die aktuellen Rahmenbedingungen, die steigenden Inzidenzen und die Prognosen des Pandemie-Verlaufs im Herbst ließen uns keine andere Wahl.

Die Qualität unserer Großveranstaltung, inklusive eines attraktiven Rahmenprogramms hat für uns und die zahlreichen Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer größte Bedeutung. Diese gewohnte und erwartete Qualität können wir in diesem Jahr leider nicht versprechen. Dazu kommt die Unsicherheit, wie sich die Lage entwickelt und das Risiko, dass die Veranstaltung sehr kurzfristig abgesagt werden müsste. Um ein in diesem Fall vorhersehbares wirtschaftliches Fiasko abzuwenden blieb uns nur die jetzige Entscheidung.

Alle bereits angemeldeten Teilnehmer erhalten in den nächsten Tagen eine E-Mail mit den Auswahlmöglichkeiten zum Übertrag der Anmeldung auf 2022 oder eine Rückerstattung des Meldegeldes.

Wir hoffen sehr, dass es uns die Entwicklung der Corona-Pandemie im nächsten Jahr erlaubt, die Durchführung des DRESDEN-MARATHON zweijähriger Zwangspause wieder zuzulassen und wir zahlreiche Läuferinnen und Läufer auf den Straßen Dresdens begrüßen dürfen.

Für Sonntag, den 17. Oktober 2021 planen wir als Verein eine Laufveranstaltung in kleinerem Rahmen über zwei verschiedene Strecken anzubieten. Details dazu folgen in Kürze.

The organizers had to decide with a heavy heart to cancel the DRESDEN MARATHON planned for October 17, 2021.

We hoped to the end, but now it is inevitable:

The current framework conditions, the rising incidence and the forecasts of the course of the pandemic in autumn left us no other choice.

The quality of our major event, including an attractive supporting program, is of great importance to us and the numerous participants. Unfortunately, we cannot promise this usual and expected quality this year. In addition, there is the uncertainty of how the situation will develop and the risk that the event would have to be canceled at very short notice. In order to avert an economic fiasco that was foreseeable in this case, we only had the current decision.

All participants who have already registered will receive an email in the next few days with the options to carry over the registration to 2022 or a refund of the registration fee.

We hope that the development of the corona pandemic will allow us to celebrate the DRESDEN MARATHON next year again, after a two-year break, and that we can welcome numerous runners to the streets of Dresden.

For Sunday, October 17th, 2021 we are planning by our club to offer a small running event over two different routes. Details will follow shortly.
